Max's Story...
July 5, 2009: Max was rescued from being dumped off in a rural part of our county when H4S saw a 'Free Beagle' notice posted for Max. When we called the older gentleman and asked if he was still available, he said, 'I was just getting ready to take him out into the country and turn him loose'. When we went to meet Max, it turns out that his person had recently lost his wife and his life's savings in the recent investment crisis, and so had to 'cut back on expenses' and that included getting rid of Max. Poor Max had been with his person for nearly all of his 6 years. At the time we rescued him, he was considerably overweight(tipped the scales at 50lbs), but now he's slimmed down to the right weight for his build(~40lbs). He's 100% healthy. No more life in the doglot for Max. He's very content sleeping next to his foster parent's bed and has never had an accident. Max is very happy being an integral part of the family pack. He is neutered, current on all vax, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. If your life is void of someone to come home to, someone who'll hang out with you in the yard/garden, someone to share the evenings greatest shows & bowl of popcorn with then this is your boy! Max's adoption fee is $125. Max is in foster care in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. He's a very sweet hound dog who loves to follow his nose and enjoys a laidback lifestyle. --------------------------------------------------------------------- **Howlin4Spirit Companion Animal Rescue** **Adoption Application** We realize, in a logical perspective, that we are not going to be able to broadly change the World. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max, a South Burlington Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in South Burlington, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in South Burlington.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Burlington already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Burlington breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Burlington paves the way for another one to be saved.
