D'Lilah's Story...
D'Lilah was rescued at 7wks old at a flea market in SC where, according to the person who brought her to H4S, they were handed the pup and told that if they didn't take her , 'she will die'. Unfortunately, this is all-too common here, where folks don't spay/neuter their 'yard ornaments' and then find themselves overloaded with pups they do not want or can't afford to feed, never-mind vaccines, dewormings or the possibility of spay/neuter, to end this vicious cycle. So, H4S now has D'Lilah safe and eating healthy & regularly, current on vax, on flea/tick prevention and she will be spayed/microchipped on Apr 28th. She is crate-trained & never has piddled or 'the other' in our open-doored facility since her arrival. She gets along well with others and is very smart, friendly, loving and enjoys playing in the yard all day with the other furkids. She knows 'no' and accepts it easily. With a little direction & a bit of room, this little girl could go FAR! D'Liliah's adoption fee is $125(includes all medical & microchip). She is in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *******Howlin4Spirit Companion Animal Rescue******* ********Adoption Application******** Thank you, for considering adopting a rescued companion animal. Why Adoption is a Great Option

D'Lilah, a Portland Australian Cattle Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Portland, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
