Heidegger's Story...
Heidegger was rescued from a neglectful situation in a rural area of our county. He lived beside the rural roal, untethered, and in harm's way for nearly 2 years. He is a wonderful little companion animal who enjoys days outside in the fresh air hunting for rodents, and LOVES the warmth and sanctity of the indoors at night. That is, he feels he has a job to do, and loves being with his people/person when the job is done. Heidegger is HOUSEBROKEN, neutered, up to date on all vax, is microchipped, and parasite-free. He gets along well with other dogs and kids, but LOVES adults best as long as they are kind and gentle. When he has this mission to hunt he is his own little man, so needs a secured fenced-in yard and plenty of fresh air. He's got a fun, happy-go-lucky attitude and is a breath of fresh air(except when he eats kitty poop...YUCK! cats!) Heidegger's adoption fee is $150, and transport to the NE area can be arranged. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ******Howlin4Spirit Companion Animal Rescue****** ********Adoption Application******** Thank you, for considering adopting a rescued companion animal. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heidegger, a Portland Dachshund/Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Cairn Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund/Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Dachshund/Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
