Jarreau's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Jarreau's Story...
Jarreau is a swell little guy(weighs in at 8lbs), with lots of character. He's approximately 7-8 yrs old, has been neutered, up to date on all his vax, dewormed with Drontal on Feb 1st, is micro-chipped, is HW negative, and does handstands when he's enthusiastic about going potty. Yep, you read that correctly! He does handstands!!! And, he's crate-trained! To be honest, he could even be housebroken, but we haven't had the time to test him for that, with all the other rescued ones needing so more care. Jarreau would make an excellent companion for a single person, or couple. I do not feel that he would be approopriate for a family situation. He's just too small and independent. Kids could leave a gate or door open, and off he'd go...exploring! Jarreau is a unique little spirit, who does love his people, but he also loves to check out the World...thus, most likely, why he found himself at Animal Control, where I rescued him. So, Jarreau will require a fenced-in yard, and someone to keep him company, LOTS of love and plenty of respect for his independednt spirit, from time to time. THIS little one is a GEM! Please, contact his rescuer at:, for more information and an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jarreau, a Portland Cairn Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier for sale in Portland, or seeking a Cairn Terrier dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
