Penny's Story...
dob: 12/24/2005 Penny was rescued when she was found inside a Rutherford Co, NC Post Office vestabule, on a cold rainy night. She had had a recent bath and was skinny. H4S thinks the person who had her couldn't feed her any longer, or may have been needing to move and needed to rehome her, without taking her to the only 'shelter' in Rutherford Co, a high-kill(3X/wk) Animal Control. She has proven to be real sweetheart. Gets along wonderfully with other dogs and kids. We have not tested her with cats, but(will test her, if needed) feel she would do well with a feline buddy. Penny is gentle and calm and friendly, but guarded with strangers, at first. She is a 9' BeagleX, weighs ~15lbs, is spayed, microchipped, UTD on all vax, on heartworm & flea/tick prevention & parasite-free. Penny would like to find a home with a nice retired lady who just wants a companion to be with. She's not seeking a family with young children, though a calm, gentle girl(~8+yr) would probably be a good match for Penny's furever family/buddy, also...she seems to like women best. She enjoys snuggling and being an integral part of the family. She is in foster care in Rutherfordton, NC. Her adoption fee is $275(includes transport any 3rd Saturday of each month). For more information on Penny, please call her foster mom, Denise at: 828-429-8398 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All interested adopters must be 21 yrs old age and are required to complete an application. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Penny, a Oswego Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Oswego, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Oswego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oswego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oswego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oswego paves the way for another one to be saved.
