Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Gretchen!
Gretchen is a 4- to 5-year-old stray rescued from MADDAC nearly 2 years ago. She is the sweetest, most mild tempered dog you've ever met! She doesn't jump, and is potty- and crate-trained. She LOVES her Boston terrier, Vinny, who she is completely submissive to. She lies on her back when they play so she isn't hovering over him--it would be great if she had a doggy friend to play with in her forever home! She is a bit excited by the cat she lives with, so her ideal home would be feline-free! One thing to note is that Gretchen can only be adopted to a home with no children, and to a family that won't be having children.
Gretchen had a rough go of it when she was rescued, with a host of medical problems that have since been resolved. She does get hives occasionally, but an inexpensive shampoo takes care of it no problem! She also has a hip that bothers her (something common to her breed), and she requires prescription glucosamine to help her joints, which also is inexpensive.
This sweet girl weighs approximately 75 pounds and is loving life! Could you be her forever family?
Gretchen’s adoption fee is $100 and she is being fostered in southeastern Wisconsin. Because all our Cupids are fostered in private homes, an approved application MUST be on file before proceeding with a meet-and-greet. The online application can be found at http://www.caninecupids.org/adopt-.html.

Our Thoughts on Visual Breed Identification
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable. For most of our adoptable Cupids we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We think it’s most important is to get to know each dog as an individual! We then do our best to describe each of our adoptable Cupids based on their personalities in order to determine whether they’ll make good companions based on prospective adopters’ lifestyles. Dog behavior is not exclusive to breed — it’s a complex mix of nature and nurture.
