About Me:
Howdy everybody! You probably recognize me as one of the dachshunds that my POET family rescued from a dog hoarder. I used to be very sad crated all day, and with little time to play. Things have changed though now!
Of the doxies that POET rescued, I was in the worst shape. I could barely move I was so covered in mats and dried poop. It took several hours for the groomers to clean me off. My fur had to be completely shaved down. They discovered that I am a bit underweight, but overall very healthy. And once I was free from all that nasty fur weighing me down, there is no stopping me!
I have discovered that I love, love, love being free! I can run and jump and play now. And I can see this big beautiful new world now! I found my voice, and love “talking” to my foster mom. I would do pretty well in pretty much any home, because I am actually pretty confident all things considered. I like kids, but as doxies tend to be a bit more fragile than other dogs, older kids are better because they are gentler then little ones. I do NOT like kitties, and I cannot be adopted into a home with one. I am working on potty training, because I never left my crate before and didn’t know that dogs were supposed to go potty outside. I am also learning to be crate trained…you would think living in a crate I would have it down, but in our old home they didn’t care if we barked or went potty on ourselves. With patience and love, I can show you what a good girl I can be!
