About Me:
Howdy everybody! You probably recognize me as one of the dachshunds that my POET family rescued from a dog hoarder. I used to be very sad crated all day, and with little time to play. Things have changed though now!
When you first meet me, I might be a little shy and grumbly. I have not had very many reasons to trust humans, but I am starting to learn that not everyone is bad. If you are patient and give me slow pets and lots of treats, I will come around and be your new best friend…just ask my foster mom! And once you earn my trust, boy will we have fun! I am actually very good at agility, and I love doing tricks (for treats of course!) Now that I am free, I am living life to the fullest!
I am currently working on going potty outside. I am catching on, but I am not quite there yet and sometimes I have accidents in the house. I do really well in the crate though! I am pretty quiet for the most part, but do get excited when my foster parents wake up in the morning because it means its play time! I get along with other dogs, but I like taking my time getting to know them. I haven’t met kitties, and while I don’t mind kids, I would prefer older kids to adopt me because they can be told to be gentle. My foster mom calls me a monkey, because I like to climb and jump. I can be a bit possessive with toys (not food), and my foster family is teaching me to share.
