*All of our rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to their adoption.*
Brooklyn is a little over a year old with the temperament of a puppy! She is simply stunning and has a goofy personality. Brooklyn came to us from the Bay Area where her time was running out in the shelter due to space. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a no-kill shelter. All shelters have to euthanize for space as well as test dogs for their adoptability. Many of the temperament testing is extremely stringent and perfectly good animals fail due to the stress they are under or the environment they are in. Brooklyn was saved just in time! She is just GORGEOUS and truly one-of-a-kind. If it's attention you want, just take this girly for a walk around the block :) Everyone comments on her unique colors and look. Brooklyn was a bit excited when she first arrived but she has settled in quite nicely. She wants to play with all the dogs around her and has shown no signs of dislike for anyone or anything. In fact, she would play constantly if you would allow her too, ha! But on the other hand, she has shown her foster momma that she is good for cuddling too!! She would love nothing more than to play by day and snuggle by night. She could defiantly benefit from an experienced owner to continue working on her manners as well as handle her strength and her energy. Don't let her small size fool you, she is a tank of brute strength! She is learning to walk gently on her leash and most of the time she just wants to play with it, haha! Brooklyn is fully crate trained, will walk in on command and lay down. She will not make a peep and waits patiently to be let out. Brooklyn also know "sit", “down”and "shake." She is super well socialized and would do great in any environment although her playful antics and curious nature can certainly annoy some other dogs. She is a staff favorite at the Vet's office too!!
Miss Brooklyn is spayed, up-to-date on her shots and micro chipped. If you would like to meet Brooklyn, please go to www.pitcrew.org and fill out an application. We will be in touch once we have reviewed your application.

FOSTER UPDATE: Brooklyn had the best weekend ever! She got to visit one of our volunteers’ home where she played with all their dogs both large and small, male and female, young and old! She met cows, chickens, pigs, goats AND cats. She did AMAZING!!! Brooklyn is a wonderful little dog who loves to play, play, play. It's so awesome to watch her explore new things. It looks to us that her past life was limited and she didn't get to see much at all:/ the first time she is on a bed, running in a field, playing with other pups...it's all new for this sweetheart! She would do best in an active household where she could release all that puppy energy!!
Foster Dad Update: Brooklyn is very dog-oriented and may do best with another younger dog to play with. She is so full of life and energy. She shared the food bowl with the other dogs, on day 1 which is pretty amazing, and shows her submissiveness (pic of this is attached). She loves walks! She is crate trained, knows "sit" and "shake", and actually comes when her name is called (she listens better than my own dogs funny enough) Also, she did great with the cat. Very curious but not one growl or bark, just wants to lick and paw at the cat to play. At one point the cat was laying on the floor by the door and Brooklyn was just standing next to the cat waiting to go outside too!!
Foster Update: Sweet Brooklyn has been with us for far too long! The best way to describe Brooklyn would be "puppy-like". Brooklyn does wonderful with a routine and would really benefit from an experienced dog owner since she is so strong and needs to continue her training to make sure she is a polite, wonderful girl! She truly does not comprehend aggression and she is incredibly naive. When we say naïve, we don’t mean it in a negative way. She doesn’t want any trouble with anyone. She just wants to play and she thinks that all other dogs feel the same way, which we all know is not always the case. Brooklyn has no concept of personal space either, like most larger dogs, she thinks she is a lap dog, ha-ha. She wants to sit on your lap and lay across your chest while you sleep. She loves a good tug-of-war session whether that be with her humans or her foster brothers and sisters. Even though Brooklyn is sweet and VERY gentle, she is energetic and that can be misinterpreted by another dog. We can completely understand that though, don’t you remember when you were young and your little brother/sister would not stop pestering you to play and would follow you everywhere? Brooklyn is the annoying little sister, but in a GOOD way, hah!
All she wants to do is play and be silly. She has us laughing constantly from her early morning tail-chase to her late-evening fall off the couch in the middle of a good belly-rub antics! She is loads of fun and as sweet as they come. She is working on her manners and we are convinced that someone owned her, crated her day in and day out, never walked her, never exercised her, never did anything with her L Her “owner” surrendered her at the shelter (they aren’t allowed to tell us why).
Brooklyn is highly food motivated and eager to please which makes her very easy to train. We love to watch her discover new things (she is such an inexperienced, innocent girl). Everything is exciting in her big, beautiful, brown eyes! We absolutely love this girl and with the right family, she will continue to flourish and be the amazing dog she is destined to be! Beautiful Brooklyn would love to be your running partner by day and cuddle bunny at night…She deserves every ounce of love a family has to give :)
Foster Update: Brooklyn learned "spin" in 15 minutes! She will do anything for a treat so we have been using that to our advantage and teaching her new tricks. She loves to play with her foster brothers and sisters and she is learning to walk politely on leash. She is a sweet girl who loves everyone. Brooklyn would benefit from an active household who can give her the exercise she so needs and loves.

03/03/2016 Update: We continue to search high and low for Brooklyn's family and come up empty handed. We just can't believe that this gorgeous girl has been with us for over 6 months! Brooklyn is a special dog and nothing like any dog we have met before. She is a big puppy and wants to play all the time. She has no concept of anything other then pure silliness and happiness! Brooklyn would do best in a home with an experienced large dog owner who can continue to work with her on her manners (she is getting much better but her excitement to see you sometimes gets the best of her). Brooklyn does great with smaller dogs or puppies since she thinks she is the same size and often times has a similar play style. Although she wants to play with everyone she meets, they don't always want a big girl like her jumping about and annoying them :( but she truly wants nothing else but to play and be loved. She is a special dog and we just HAVE to find her family! We promised her long ago that we would make sure we got her a loving, caring, safe home all her own... Please share Brooklyn and help us keep our promise to her. She wants so to badly to go home....

03/31/2016 Brooklyn's a great dog. She has a lot of energy and we've been working on her manners. I think she would do best with a consistent schedule and plenty of exercise. We've been going on walks and runs every day.
