Besides an adorable, unique dog, do you know what you get when you cross a Basset Hound with a Beagle? "A Bagel". Foster mom says that she always knew that I was special. I came into rescue as a small 5 lb baby. I started growing longer and longer and was so low to the ground that my ears kept getting in my food bowl and I had to watch out that my tummy didn't drag the ground when I ran. Foster mom kept joking that I looked like I should be in a large hot dog bun. Then one day my legs started growing in proportion to my body. I now weigh 25 lbs and am still low to the ground but my tummy clears just fine. When I was little, foster mom would sit on the floor, hold me in her arms and put me over her shoulder so we would cuddle. Since I have grown so much longer I now stand in foster mom's lap and drape myself over her shoulder to cuddle. I also love to sit in laps.
I love to run and play and get along with dogs of all sizes. When I see something new that I want to check out I go into what foster mom calls "stealth mode". Without slowing down a bit I somehow crouch down very low to the ground to make myself less visible. For some reason people laugh when I do this.
I am learning house manners and how to walk on a leash. I sit for petting and to earn treats. When it is meal time I get so excited that I leap in the air, do ballet turns and walk on my hind legs. After my food bowl and food went flying a few times I now have to sit before eating. Foster mom says that I am very smart and learn quickly. I am eager to have a home of my own and hope that you will fill out an application and come meet me soon.
Love,
Lucky Llama Bagel
