Charlie's Story...
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. PLEASE do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. Be sure to contact the foster or organization directly from the information listed below.

Charlie is a 6-year old black Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel blend who weighs 23 lbs. This sweet, silly boy loves to play, to chomp squeaky toys, and baby carrots! Best of all, he REALLY loves to cuddle. He knows "sit," "down," "off," "leave it", and more. He is good with other dogs. He does not shed and is house and crate trained. He walks quite well on a leash.

Charlie has been a dog that has been loved and cared for all his life. Sadly, his human passed away unexpectedly, and he is in need of a new forever home. His former human was house bound, so he is used to constant companionship. He would do best in a family that is home a lot or has another dog to keep him company.

Most of all, Charlie knows the way into your heart! Are you ready for you new best friend??!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Vista Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel for sale in Vista, or seeking a Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Dachshund/Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
