My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PATTY is a 7 year old spayed black female Lab that weighs 66 pounds. Patty is a sweetheart! She loves people and car rides. She was given up to the shelter by her owner who could no longer care for her. Her owners called her "Fatty" but we did not think that was a very nice thing so we call her Patty! Patty is easy on leash and just wants to please and be near you. She is quiet and calm.
Patty is house trained. She has never been crated but we will work on that. She is good with cats per her previous owner but we have not seen that so we are listing as unknown for now. She is good with other dogs but prefers calmer dogs that won't rush into her face. She just likes to hang out and would not do well with a bouncy dog that wanted to play all the time. Patty is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (7/25): Patty Ponderings:
Happy Saturday everyone. Foster Mom says she can't believe that someone hasn't noticed how wonderful I am and hasn't snatched me up. At 7 years of age, I've gotten rid of all my destructive behaviors and I'm pretty laid back. I just want to be with my people. I'm a quiet girl that just needs love, food, water and potty breaks. Well, treats are good too and take them from you with a soft mouth. I don't jump on furniture and I rarely bark. Foster Mom says she has only heard me once. This is kind of nice since I'm approved to live in an apartment or townhouse. I appreciate any attention you give me and I usually will give you soft sweet kisses in return. I love my crate and dog bed too. I pretty much will stay there, door wide open, when I just want to hang around. So, I'm looking for my forever family. Could it be you? I hope so. Call your AC to come to Lynchburg and give me a last name.
Love,
Patty

Update (7/22)Patty's Ponderings:
Hello again. Today has started out great! You see, each day I get braver and braver which means I am more secure than yesterday. All four of us dogs can go outside together now. You see, Reese is a very tall, long, young athletic girl that sort of scared me when I first got here. She's 3 years old and 85 pounds compared to my 65 pounds and 7 years of age! Have you heard of the saying "the best offense is a good defense"? Well I was a little growly when we first met. A girl has to protect herself! But now,...we get along just fine. I'm not a big play girl and I'm really more of a couch potato but I do like being outside; especially if you are out there. See that's the key, being with you and certainly giving you plenty of kisses. If you are looking for a beautiful girl that has a desire to love her people, call your AC to come visit me in Lynchburg.
Love,
Patty
PS: Foster Mom and Dad love my white speckles. They say that I was around somebody that splattered white paint on my face. I think they are silly!

Update (7/20): Patty's Ponderings:
Good morning everyone! Well I had a wonderful night in my foster home. It was great waking up and feeling relaxed. Reese and I are getting along fine and we actually can take treats together. Suzie and Belle are great to hang around with too.
Did I tell you I like to give kisses? That's like my most favorite thing to do. I helped Brenden start his day with some kisses this morning! I've also given Foster Mom and Foster Dad their kisses too. Foster Mom says I'm such a love bug.
Now she's put me on a little bit of a green bean diet because she thinks that I need to trim down about 5 pounds. She said that's not much and, quite honestly, I like the green beans. I get a little dollop of yogurt too. All of it is yummy on my tummy. Well, I'm going to take a nap in my crate. The door is open but I like the security and the soft dog bed.
Oh, I'm a 7 year old owner give up girl. I'm very healthy except I have to get a heartworm treatment. Foster Mom says I'm asymptomatic...whatever that means. I'm up-to-date on my vaccines and just a very sweet girl and pull on the leash. I'm looking for my forever home so call your AC to make me a member of your family!
Love,
Patty

Update (7/4): Patty cake, Patty cake baker's man. Bake me a forever family as fast as you can. Roll it, pat it and mark it with a P. Bake them in the oven for they will end up loving me! Hi, my name is Patty (not that horrid Fatty name my original humans called me) & I'm 7 years old. I'm good on leash and I'm great on car rides. You could say, I'm a snuggler of sorts and I get along with other dogs. Call your AC, make a trip to Amelia and make me your girl!

Update (6/24): Patty is settling in great at her foster! She has made friends with the other dogs and is a quiet, easy house guest. She likes to run and play but also is content to hop up and snuggle with a human on the couch. Patty would love to spend July 4th ( and the rest of her life) with you!
