______________________

This sweet boy is Barney, and he has the cutest wiggle butt! Barney didn't get the attention he deserved until he came to ESRA. Prior to that, he was an outside dog. He and his sister Angel, also in our program, lived in a kennel together without much human interaction.

Since Barney has been in our care, he has come out of his shell. He recently attended a local "Yappy Hour" with his foster family, and he enjoyed meeting new people and new dogs without any problems. He also loves car rides, and he is well behaved in the car.

Barney enjoys running in the fenced yard at his foster home, nose to the ground, exploring with his canine foster siblings. Due to his sometimes-selective hearing and his tendency to follow his nose, we would prefer to place Barney in a home with a fenced yard.

Barney's foster home also has cats, and he ignores them. His good behavior with the other pets and his solid housetraining has earned him free rein in the house when his foster family is away, though he will go into a crate if he is asked to do so.

Barney seems to love everyone. He is a nice, mellow boy who will make a wonderful companion. If you would like to make this handsome, gentle guy part of your family, contact his case managers at the email below.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Barney.
