Cleo's Story...
FOSTER NEEDED FOR HER IF NOT ADOPTED - URGENT - This white face beauty is Cleo. She was rescued from an elderly couple from McConnellsburg PA because their failing health left them unable to care for her anymore. They told us that she was 4 years old but never said when she would turn 5. She is good with children and actually loves them. She was around other kids both older and younger and did well with them. Cleo is living with a cat and she did well with him however the cat spent most of his time up away from the dogs because 2 little dogs would chase him. She lived in a home with 5 dogs including her and she did well with the bigger dogs but not well with the 2 little dogs. She attacked both of the little dogs. She doesn't like thunder and hates when family yells or someone is hitting each other (NOT HER). She pulls when on the leash but that can be easily corrected. She likes treats but you have to throw them to her because she bites your fingers if you hand them to her - again that can be easily corrected. Cleo is still with her owners in Huntingdon, PA. . Please call Dawn at 610-787-2353 for more information on this pretty girl. Also, can you please make sure you give us your location and phone number so we can get ahold of you more quickly. Thank you so much for wanting to saving a needy saint bernard.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cleo, a Pittsburgh St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Pittsburgh, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Pittsburgh.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsburgh already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsburgh breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsburgh paves the way for another one to be saved.
