Pearl's Story...
Located in Bristow, VA: Meet Pearl. Pearl is an active 13 - year old young lady. She is very affectionate giving all the puppy smooches you can tolerate. She was surrendered to rescue due to the addition of a new baby to the family. Pearl did not hurt the baby in any way but the family thought it was too much to handle with both. She gets along well with people of all ages. I have not witnessed Pearl around a cat so I do not know how she would react to them. She is house trained if taken out on a regular basis. She has recently been spayed and had a dental. Pearl is micro chipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on her vaccines. Pearl would do best in a home as the only dog as she likes to be your main squeeze.

If you can give sweet Pearl a forever loving home and are interested in adopting her, please submit an adoption application to the American Maltese Association Rescue at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pearl, a Virginia Beach Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese for sale in Virginia Beach, or seeking a Maltese dog from a breeder in Virginia Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Virginia Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Virginia Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese breeders who help with Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Virginia Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
