My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Andy and I am a cute beagle boy… about 3 yrs. old and weighing 20 lbs…. that was found as a stray on May 21 and brought to a high-kill shelter in South Carolina. Sadly, my owner never came to reclaim me. I was told that I had to find another place to live before it was too late. I pulled out all the stops with my tail-wagging and offering of doggie kisses, but nobody wanted me. Time passed and I was soon listed as ‘urgent’, though I didn’t really know what ‘urgent’ meant. Angels were truly on my side when Penny Angels saw my posting online and agreed to rescue me. They even rescued my kennel-mate, Brandon! We both went to a foster home in South Carolina while awaiting transport to Penny Angels. Brandon will be staying in the foster home a little longer, but I will be arriving in NJ on Saturday, 6-27, and will be available for adoption at that time.

My foster mom took great care of me while I was with her and she wanted to share this info with potential adopters: “I knew Andy was a sweet, fun-loving boy from the first minute I met him, but he has gotten sweeter and more loving every minute since that time! Andy is one of the friendliest dogs I have ever met. He loves every person and dog he meets. His tail wags constantly and he is always ready to play. He can make a game out of anything; he is learning to play fetch, but his favorite game is "he hides the toy and you go seek”. Andy loves treats, but he also loves to hide them, too, so don't be surprised if you find a cookie buried between the cushions of the sofa or behind a door.

“Andy has the best snuggles! He loves to stretch out in your lap and fall asleep while you're watching TV or reading a book. He is a very quiet dog inside and only barks when he catches a really good scent outside. He is learning to walk on a leash. He is doing quite well but will still pull on occasion. Some of those scents out there are just too hard to ignore! He is almost housetrained, too, and will scratch at the door when he needs to go outside. Be prepared to be smothered with kisses when you meet Andy; he is one of those dogs that will steal your heart (and your pillow, too) if you aren't careful!” if you are interested in adopting him, please fill out an application and contact Penny Angels today!
