Tony's Story...
Handsome Tony is a 3 year old Wire-Hair Dachshund mix who just can't wait to meet you! He came to the shelter when his previous owners didn't have enough time to care for him anymore. He is a very sweet boy who loves get attention. His favorite toy is the tennis ball, and he loves to play fetch with it! Tony is great with other dogs around his size, and has been good with kids too. He appears to be housetrained but will need some reminders in his new home. Tony tested positive for heartworms when he came in, but don't let that scare you away! His treatment is covered by his adoption fee thanks to generous donors! He has been neutered, is current on his vaccinations, and microchipped. All he is missing is you! Come and meet him today at our Waggin' Tails Adoption Center in Benbrook. We are open daily from 12-6pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tony, a Benbrook Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Benbrook, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Benbrook.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Benbrook already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Benbrook breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Benbrook paves the way for another one to be saved.
