My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MAKO is a 7 month old neutered black male Lab puppy who weighs 45 pounds. Everyone is in love with him at the vet! He is a cuddler. He crawled up under Dr. Jesper's arm and sat on his lap while he was writing in his chart. He is super food motivated and will be easy to train! He is not a barker and is actually a little scared in the kennel runs because of the noise but is super happy. He is very gentle except with treats, but that will be easily fixed and we are working on that. He will jump up occasionally, but does it very gently. He mostly just rolls over or lays down when you talk to him. For a puppy he is quite calm. He likes the Kuranda bed in his run. He needs some work on house training and we are working on that also. He can be a little bit of a submissive peer at times when he gets excited, but he will get better and outgrow that. Just a very sweet little pup! Mako is learning to walk on leash and is a good rider. He likes other dogs and wants to play. Mako was given up by his owner along with another pup to the SPCA as they "could not handle two pups and their training". Mako is approved for kids ages 8+.

Update (7/22): Mako is a love. He loves to snuggle. He loves to play with other dogs, loves toys and loves water. We are still working with him on his crate training. We believe he lived the first 7 months of his life outdoors so missed the important training times. He is doing better and we will continue to work with him on this. Other than that, he is wonderful, sweet and calm.

Update (7/2): Mako is the sweetest puppy ever! He just wants to snuggle and give kisses. He is very calm for a young pup and just wants to please. We are working on his house training but he is very treat motivated and eager to make you happy so it is coming along and should not take long once he is out of the kennel.
