Ringo's Story...
Ringo showed up on the porch of an animal lover on one of the coldest nights of the year shivering and underweight. She took him in and searched for an owner on social media without success. After two weeks, she turned to ARF for help. Ringo walks small and carries a big lick! He is an adorable 2 year old Rat Terrier weighing in at 11 pounds of pure cuddle bug! He's a very sweet and friendly little guy and loves, loves, loves treats! He has a slight little under bite which ads to his charming and cute character, and his ears look a little tattered around the edges from frostbite. Ringo loves to be held, loves to cuddle and most of all just loves the company of humans or other animals. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes and kitty cats too. He is a bit feisty with the male dogs in his foster home but it may be because they are more feisty. He has completely charmed the female doggies and the female kitty and is doing better with the males since he's been neutered. The female kitty he is pictured with is a 20 year old senior girl and he is very good with her. So, while he can be energetic and playful with the younger doggies, he can also be calm and gentle with the senior girl. Ringo knows 'sit', 'down' and 'shake', walks on a leash and will dance of his own accord when he wants something. He knows the sounds of the kitchen and of a can of food being opened and will talk to you while his dinner is being prepared. He also talks to the characters on TV and likes to watch Cesar Millan and Animal Planet. Ringo is crate trained and house trained but he does have an occasional accident if you're not quick enough when he tells you he has to 'go.' Ringo has been teen tested and did well but has not been child/toddler tested. As such, he may do better in a home with older children and adults, especially with his propensity to guard toys. Ringo would love a home where he will have laps to sit on, blankets to burrow under at bedtime, lots of love, attention, treats and a playmate or two. He wants nothing more than to shower you with love and entertain you with endless 'cuteness'. Will you give this Cutie Patootie a chance?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ringo, a Ripley Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
