Brute's Story...
When we first met Brute, he was depressed and he was in trouble. He had been taken to the clinic to be euthanized because he had developed some health issues, an expense his owner said he couldn't afford. Brute was humped up in the kennel at the clinic with his head in the corner and his back to everyone. He was so depressed. After that weekend, Brute was taken to a foster home, and he has blossomed. He is running and playing and enjoying both the other dogs and being accepted into a family. His diet doesn't include table scraps and is being carefully monitored, and exercise has been helping him get some excess weight off so that he doesn't look like a little sausage. His foster mom reports that he is doing extremely well, making a lot of progress, and being a great and a happy dog. Brute is four years old and weighs 15.7 pounds. He is tri-color neutered male with short hair and pointed little ears. Brute takes a thyroid pill morning and evening at this point, and he may always. But he is getting healthier and happier every day. All he needs is someone who will accept him and love him as he is.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Brute, a Ripley Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
