Goliath's Story...
Goliath is a big baby! Even though he was a little thin when he was taken in by ARF, he weighed 20 pounds at only three months old! This sweet boy was dumped, as so often happens in our WV area. The people who found him kept him a couple of days, but they were leaving town and Goliath would have been fending for himself had ARF not taken him in. He has had his first shots and has been wormed and given a flea treatment. His first night in foster care, he ate, drank, got comfortable once the fleas were gone, and then wanted to rest in his crate. Since then, he has eaten well, seems to be filling out and looking better, and he is very loving and playful. Goliath is easily trainable, for he is very smart! He doesn't mess in his crate and already won't mess his x-pen during the night. He is friendly with other dogs and is a submissive boy who wags his tail a lot and is intrigued by everything around him. What a wonderful pup! He's a treasure!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Goliath, a Ripley Great Dane puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Ripley, or seeking a Great Dane puppy from a breeder in Ripley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ripley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ripley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ripley paves the way for another one to be saved.
