Samantha's Story...
Meet Samantha, a 13-year old Labrador Mix. Yes, “Sammy” is a senior citizen and has been up and down the road of life quite a bit already. Now she’s eager to find a loving home she can retire in. Samantha is very friendly and becomes very attached to her people. She loves spending time with her people, particularly when it involves going for a relaxing stroll or just curling up beside them. Samantha can be a little sensitive at time, whistles and some insects tend to spook her, but who can blame her? Can’t trust most bugs and the wrong person with a whistle can be really grating. Samantha would be happy to share a new home with other dogs and gentle children. If you’d like to add this lovable senior to your home, then stop on by the shelter today to meet her. - See more at: http://animalwelfaresociety.org/animals/samantha-3/#sthash.votQYfOe.dpuf

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Samantha, a West Kennebunk Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in West Kennebunk, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in West Kennebunk.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in West Kennebunk already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a West Kennebunk breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in West Kennebunk paves the way for another one to be saved.
