Foxy's Story...
*See Foxy's video!*

Foxy is a sweet 3-4 year old Chow x Border Collie mix who was dumped on the mean streets of Houston's South Side.

We rescued her, and found that she is the absolute sweetest dog! She is house trained, crate trained, spayed, up to date on routine vaccines and preventions, and is microchipped.

She is a quiet yet watchful little dog. She seems to be a born guardian! Weighs about 40 lbs and shouldn't get much bigger. She is a long haired dog, her fur fell out when she got sarcoptic mange but it is very long and flowy now!! She will require daily or at very least weekly brushing, which she adores.

She has a beautiful black brindle coat. She is a dainty girl and loves cuddles. She is still learning the leash and absolutely loves quiet time in her crate with a femur bone or nylabone. She is quite a low-maintenance dog. She seems truly grateful to have been rescued. She is super affectionate and loves hugs.

No kitties for Foxy, please!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Foxy, a Houston Border Collie/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Chow Chow for sale in Houston, or seeking a Border Collie/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Chow Chow breeders who help with Border Collie/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
