Meet our adorable, charming Tammy!
Tammy is about 4 years old, an ultra-mellow, sweet-natured lapcat.
All of our cats must live indoors-only lives. Like every Bronx Tails cat, Tammy has been spayed and vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP. Tammy is negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV POSITIVE. FIV positive cats who have been spayed/neutered are not contagious and can live with non-positive cats with only very minimal risk of passing the virus to other cats. Tammy is healthy and stable and does not require any medication or treatment. She has been de-flea'd and de-wormed and has reliable litterbox habits.
It is our hope that the general public is getting to understand that FIV-positive cats are completely adoptable and can live long, healthy lives once they are spayed and neutered. The virus is passed through sex and blood contact--neither of which are a factor in altered, non-aggressive cats.
We require adopters to fill out an application, have basic references checked, allow a home visit (to ensure conditions are safe and reasonable), and pay an adoption fee. We allow all adopters an up-to-2-week-long tryout period to determine if the cat is a good match for them. If not, we will retrieve the cat and return the adoption fee in full. We will also help with tips and methods for introducing the cat to other pets, if needed.
Would you like to meet Tammy? Please contact us and we will either arrange a meet-and-greet or let you know about our next adoption events.
NOTE: if you have a specific interest in this cat, please let us know so that we can be sure to bring her to our next events, at the best location for you.
