Facts about Rosalee

  • Breed: Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Rosalee is a great little Chihuahua/Dachsund mix who will soon be ready to go to her very own family. This sweet girl was left in a high kill pound in southern Tennessee back in February very, very pregnant. One of our volunteers saw her, and knowing she would be euthanized along with the puppies rescued her to give her and her babies a chance.
Rosalee left the pound on a Monday and gave birth to 5 beautiful, healthy puppies the following Friday. She has been a great mother to them, but they are now weaned, been adopted, and it is time for her to have her chance at a great life.
She is a small dog, weighing only about 15 lbs. We are thinking she is probably no older than 2.
With her gentle personality, Rosalee is a very easy girl to love. When she first came to us, she was very needy and clingy, constantly wanting attention. Now she plays with the other dogs, does not bother the cats and stays in her crate quietly all night and during the day while we are at work. If the bed doesn't get made that day, I can often find her buried under the covers with our little Dachsund snoozing away. She has liked everyone she has met, will sit nicely beside you on the couch, and never growled or snapped at anyone even when her puppies were tiny.
Rosalee is not a barker. In her current foster home there are 3 other small dogs who are, so she is a welcome relief! Outside she behaves well and stays by your side. We haven't walked on a leash much, or been in a car due to her having spent most of her time until recently with the puppies, but with her easy going nature I think she would adapt to anyone who treated her kindly. Only adults and older teens are in her foster home, so I have not seen her around small children.
Rosalee is now spayed, and current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative, and ready to be adopted!
Please consider adding this easy going girl to your family. It is time for her to get her chance to shine!
