My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kona is a Take Me Home courtesy post. Kona is not affiliated with Take Me Home. He is not under our care. Take Me Home is not responsible for any adoptions through private parties. For more information on Kona or to meet Kona please contact/email Chela at 77dognights@sbcglobal.net.

I knew when I received a call from Tiffani, the New Hope/rescue Coordinator at the shelter asking if I could come take video of Kona that he had to be special. The shelter had sent out a plea for him after he was dumped at the shelter at the age of 11 years old by his owner but Kona was still there, and they loved him so much.

Kona had had a large abcess on his neck when his owner brought him in: the owner was unable, or unwilling, to take him to the vet for this relatively simple fix. The shelter drained the abcess and it is healing nicely. When the hair grows back you will never know it was there at all. Kona seems to be in otherwise good health----and his sweet, calm nature has won everyone over: I know that I fell in love.

I always know that dog-testing is the single most important aspect for rescue and Kona passed with flying colors. From the first nose to nose of the dog in the cage next to him, Kona was gentle and unconcerned [PLEASE WATCH VIDEO]. This dog is so gentle and sweet, Kona's gorgeous blue eyes look you straight in the eye and smile. I forgot to put the video of him laying belly up while Kerry scratched his belly, but he is that kind of dog, communicative and affectionate and smart.

I walked him into the yard and we brought out a small dog to walk around him: his reaction could not have been better. He just didn't seem to care, he was content and calm.

Please help save this wonderful, stunning, sweet dog---Kona deserves so much better, he has so much to offer and he will repay your kindness a million times over.
