My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We have an 19 month old (as of June 2015) standard grey male chinchilla up for adoption. His name is Dewey. Dewey came to us from a kill-shelter, where he was surrendered due to his family not taking care of him.
Dewey is talkative boy. He will talk to you when you try to go pick him up, but he is all talk. Once you have him in your arms, he settles down and does great with being handled and petted. He likes being able to hide in his house, and would do well with a house in his new home so that he can feel secure. Dewey does well with being held and petted. He does not bite.
Dewey does not get along with other chinchillas.
This chinchilla would make a good “first chinchilla” for someone who has never had one before.
As with all of our chinchillas/rescues, this chinchilla will come with 2 pounds of food to start you out (Mazuri pellets), a baggies of chews, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also offer a variety of other supplies for sale, including cages (new and used), chew toys, hidey houses, and much more.
Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

Dewey would normally be $75 to adopt, but with our Awesome August sale, his adoption fee has dropped to $65! Must be picked up by August 31st!
