My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

BLUE is an eight year old neutered yellow male Lab that weighs 101 pounds. He is bonded with Ginger and they must be adopted together. . Blue in particular needs to be near Ginger, he is very dependent on her. He needs daily activity otherwise he will chew on things you would rather that he not. Ginger has a very sweet nature, is very submissive. She looks to Blue as the leader and she will lay down and roll over tummy side up when he starts to boss her around. They have been together since the age of 9 months. Both adore people and love attention. They will benefit from daily exercise and more attention. Ginger may also chew soft items if they are left around and she has nothing else to do. They have not been leash walked much, but they do fine on leash. They appear to be house trained; lived indoors as well as outside tethered. Also crate trained and will lie in their crates willingly. Blue has two unique patches of black/dark brown fur on left thorax. Owner says he was born with them. They know some commands, although may need a refresher: ‘Sit’ (using closed hand), ‘Lie down’, ‘Wait’ (using open hand), ‘Stand’, ‘Leave It’, ‘No sniff’, ‘Back off’, ‘Back Up’, ‘Kennel’, ‘Hurry up’ (for Potty). Blue loves water! Ginger likes to retrieve. Blue DOES have a high prey drive and will chase and catch squirrels. Advise NO cats. They react appropriately when meeting other dogs, even though they have not had a lot of exposure. Blue is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (9/14): Ginger and Blue had a great time at the adoption day! Everyone that met them loves them. They are a super sweet pair and are definitely bonded. They are both great in the car. Lets find this gorgeous pair their forever home!

Update (7/22) Ginger and Blue are a nice pair of dogs and they have good house manners. They are crate trained, house trained, know some basic commands, and don't bark. We don't let them up on the furniture and while interested in food during prep and dinner, they lay down quietly while we eat and don't beg. Blue is the more busy dog and Ginger is a very sweet quiet girl. Blue has an interesting birth mark of black fur that is reminiscent of Charlie Brown and he likes to have his belly rubbed. They both follow us around and love attention. They are more energetic than their age would suggest. We are taking walks everyday, working on the leash skills and making progress.
