My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Carmin is a sweet girl with quite the story to tell, and thanks to a microchip placed when she was a puppy, we have a pretty good idea of what that story actually is. In her two short years, Carmin has been through at least two different owners, in and out of shelters, been refused admission back into said shelters (due to space), and even came down with a case of mange, a skin infection caused by tiny arachnids called mites. She had been so mistreated that when someone spotted her running stray south of Larned, it took several days to earn her trust enough to bring her in... THAT'S when PCHS came into the picture. It was immediately obvious what a kind, affectionate, and intelligent girl Carmin is. Clearly all of her troubles have been caused by human negligence (absolutely no fault of her own), so bringing her into our program and getting her the medical treatment she needed was a no-brainer. Fast forward several weeks and you wouldn't believe we're dealing the same dog. Her skin is completely healed, she's no longer shy, and Carmin has proven herself to be one of the most fun and outgoing dogs we've seen. Her lab side ensures that she does wonderful with kids and other animals, and her pointer side brings out her loyalty and obedience. It breaks our hearts that such a good dog has had such a bad life, but we're positive the perfect forever home is out there just waiting for Carmin. This girl has been through so much, will you be the one to show her what a dog's life is really all about?
