My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bella. She's a precious 4 year old chihuahua who weighs 8 pounds. She's current with vaccinations, spayed, tested negative for heartworms and will be microchipped. Bella is housebroken and knows basic commands. She's never been on a leash either, but did well when we tested her.

Bella has a sad story - her moma recently died. She's staying with friends now and does well with their 2 small dogs. We're unsure of how she would be with large dogs. Bella is looking for a lap, a moma or daddy or both who want a sweet snuggler. She is accustomed to sleeping in the bed with her humans too. Also since her moma died, Bella has developed an allergy or it could be stress related and has a little itchy skin and hair loss, but she saw our vet and is now on medication to clear that up. She also has chronic dry eye and will probably need daily eye drops (inexpensive) the rest of her life. She will be re-evaluated in a month about that.

Bella is shy and timid at first just because so much has changed for her in the last couple of months. Her moma pretty much stayed home, so all of these changes are confusing. But, she's opened up in her foster home. Her first romp around the yard in the morning is to run out there, stop and bark! Telling her friends that "Bella's awake!" She has a wonderful, fun little personality once she warms up.

Bella hasn't been around children. While, she's a total sweetheart, we believe the level of activity surrounding small children will upset her.

Bella's ideal home is a calm home with a stay at home family membe, who's okay with allowing Bella to sleep in their bed, who has no small children living in the home and a fenced yard so she can run around and play safely. She would do good with a small doggy friend (meet & greet required), but would be completely happy as an only pet.

Are you the family Bella's looking for?
