Bentley's Story...
My name is Bentley. I'm 16 weeks old and for a rescue puppy, I'm very lucky. I've been with my parents, Fred and Ethel, and my brothers and sisters since I was born. My mom and dad were rescued from a breeding pen when my mom was pregnant with us. We're all pure-bred Basset Hound puppies.
I'm full of love and kisses. I've been around kids, adults, puppies, cats, and big dogs all my life and I'm very social. I love everyone and I love to play and get cuddled. Like my brothers and sisters, I'm a great family dog. Since my mom was rescued while she was pregnant, she was very well fed and cared for and because of that, all of us puppies are very healthy. I'm going to be about medium-sized (probably 45 to 50 pounds) when I'm full grown and I'm going to be a very handsome dog. My temperament is easy-going, loving, and social. I'd be happiest in a family with kids or another dog or puppy so I have someone to play with. If you're interested in learning more about me, please contact my foster mom, Cathy, at (619) 822-1577 or email her at catherine888@mac.com. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bentley, a Chula Vista Basset Hound puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Chula Vista, or seeking a Basset Hound puppy from a breeder in Chula Vista.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chula Vista already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chula Vista breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chula Vista paves the way for another one to be saved.
