Meet Zoey! This gorgeous girl will melt your heart. She is a year old and weighs about 8 lbs. She is a Chihuahua mix with Miniature Pinscher colors. Zoey is a timid little girl and when she is in a new place she chooses to sit quietly in her crate or in another confined area. When Zoey gets to know you, she likes to follow you around the house and jump into your lap to give her kisses. She LOVES to give kisses! Zoey follows the lead of other dogs and would really do well with a playmate who doesn't mind playing from morning until night.
We are told that she can climb fences! We would recommend using a leash at all time with Zoey until she is comfortable with you and until she learns full recall. Zoey has not had any accidents in the house, is very quiet in her crate, good with dogs, fearful of people but in a "run and hide" type of way, and we think she would be good with children. She has not yet been tested with cats. She walks nicely on a leash as well.
She would make a great addition to almost any family! She would do best with an adopter who is committed to exposing her to positive social situations with new people at her own pace. She has the makings of an outgoing dog, she just needs to learn that new people are great!

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
