My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We're so glad that Macee was able to stay safe as she wandered through the streets of rural Oklahoma as a stray. Her safety became questionable when she was picked up and slated for euthanasia in an extremely overcrowded Oklahoma shelter. Farfel's was made aware of this wonderful dog with the sweet personality and there could be no way that we could let that happen to this very beautiful Schnauzer/Terrier. She's so wonderful...having gotten the fun-loving and engaging (once comfortable) personality of the Terrier mixed with the very smart and loyal Schnauzer demeanor.

Arrangements were quickly made...and Macee left the shelter just in the nick of time. This truly stunning girl (with the most beautiful markings ever even through her dire need for a bath and a serious haircut), 1-year old and 13 lb Schnauzer mix left all the pain and misery of her previous life behind as she acclimated to the security of a foster home, great nutrition and lots of love and belly rubs!

We found...to our delight...that Macee is great with humans as well as gentle other dogs. She truly enjoys her time with adults...especially if it's about snuggling or hiking the Colorado mountains with her favorite people. Since Macee has been deprived of positive and nurturing human attention for at least a part of her 12 month life, she needs a bit of assurance that she's loved in a forever sort of way. She seemed to be unsure... but we hear that she gains confidence every day that she interacts with well-meaning and kind humans. We envision Macee in a home with a canine sibling (or 2) and guardians that choose to spend lots of time having fun with their dogs. Macee would be ecstatic to spend this quality time and would definitely form a fast and forever bond. She wants to please like none other...it almost seems like she's gathering the wisdom to guide her toward great behavior and very positive interaction with everyone she encounters. No stress in taking Macee out into the world..she gets along so well with everyone that she's a pleasure to be with!

A loving family that has the time and desire to form a close relationship with a pup that truly deserves it is our goal for our exceptional Macee.

Macee appears to be a non-shedding (or perhaps very lightly shedding) girl and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep her amazing coat, with the striking markings, healthy and matt-free.

We've requested that Macee be spayed prior to her transport to Colorado, If this doesn't occur, Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs for Macee's spay and microchip (if our Denver vet is used) immediately after her arrival in Denver.

Macee will arrive on transport in Denver on 7/11/15. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this sweet and devoted (and often very entertaining) companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
