My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ava is our very special 5-6 year old Peke mix. She wasn't very socialized by her former owner, so her foster parents have really worked with her to show her that not all people are bad. She is doing so much better! She enjoys playing with most other dogs and adults.

We are cautioning anyone that has kids, that all the noise that comes with kids may be too much for her. She has does not do well with her foster's grandkids. She has become a little love bug and a snuggler with her foster mom!

She has been spayed, given all her shots, tested negative for heartworm and is being treated for the yeast on her legs.

(***A note from Ava's foster:

Ava does not bite anymore, she will snap if she is tired or startled. I would not suggest children as she will snap. Cats, NO WAY. Dogs bigger than her she will snap at, but has learned to play with bigger dogs..... but if she doesn't want to play she will aggressively let you know. Her yeast infection on the backs of her legs comes and goes. The person that inquires should know you can be petting her and for no reason she will snap at you.

She is very well house trained. She will go to the door if she needs out. A normal routine for her is eat 1/2 cup at 7am, outside by 8am, eat 1/2 cup at 3:30pm out by 4pm, then another trip 9pm. She walks on leash with moderate pulling. As for as commands, sit is about it. She is a little stubborn but that is Pekingese.***)

IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING TO GIVE AVA THE BEST HOME POSSIBLE, PLEASE LET US KNOW!!
