Peanut's Story...
Peanut is about 9-10 weeks old, a Northern Pup from Manitoba. We think he's a Husky/Shep x, but we can't be sure! He is currently up for adoption, please contact us at caarerescue@gmail.com for more information on Peanut!!

From his foster:

Peanut is a very smart, loyal loving dog. He likes to follow his pack and is very attentive. He cries only when he needs to use the bathroom or when he is hungry, otherwise he is a quiet puppy (minus when he gets excited while playing). He is an active dog, but not over active.

Peanut likes his long walks but also enjoys sleeping in the shade. This dog would be best suited for someone who is active given that his breed includes Husky & German Shepherd (both very powerful, athletic, intelligent dogs). Peanut’s temperament is calm but also very confident. He has no fear when it comes to certain things, for instance jumping off of high surfaces (like my vehicle), which is something to be aware of and to keep in mind.

This pup would ultimately do best in a home with a yard, but this is not crucial, he is very adaptable as long as enough exercise is provided. Dogs are not an issue with him, but he does like to play with smaller dogs for the moment given his current size. He observes bigger dogs and the way they interact before approaching. Peanut is a great puppy who is a true “yogi” at heart, if you play him ‘Chakra’ music while he is in his kennel, he will fall asleep in less than five minutes (great for crate training).

Long story short, he is a very easy going dog who is not hard to please. As long as you feed him, exercise and love him he will make a great companion to your family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Peanut, a Vancouver Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Husky/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
