Tater Tot's Story...
Who says curiosity killed the cat or maybe I was just lucky. Having an adventurous soul I decided to hitch a ride in the engine of a pickup truck at the tender age of 7 weeks. Dumb idea, maybe, but foresight was not my strong suit. I was discovered next morning, cold, hungry and scared. I am now in a foster home until I can find my furever home where my BFF will keep me out of mischief and harm’s way. I am a little boy, about 11 weeks old and as cute as a button. I love to play and romp with my foster siblings. I think I have learned my lesson on being overly curious and I promise to stick to being just a sweet fun-loving kitty. So to my future BFF, please come get me, I am patiently waiting. Yours Truly, Tater Tot.

Please call CARE @ (804) 288-9797 or apply online and ask my foster mom Connie all about me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tater Tot, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
