Sam's Story...
Oh do we have a handsome guy for you! Sam is 4 years old and is full of life and happiness. We saved him and his sister when a neighboring shelter shouted pleas for their lives. They were not being taken care of by their prior guardians and animal control had to take them for their own welfare. We are happy we were able to help because Sam is such a fun-loving guy. Sam looks like a Shepherd mix and he is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. This higher energy dog loves everyone he meets. He will do best in a home with only female dog friends, but with the proper meet and greet, he would likely love brothers also. Sam enjoys walks on a leash. In fact, if he had it his way, Sam would love his pack leader to run with him on the leash! This handsome guy loves his toys and is a vocal and happy playmate. If you've been looking for a medium-sized dog and will be a strong pack leader to transition Sam into your home, please complete an online application at ITVRescue.org. This 55-pound fella deserves an active family to start his happily ever after!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Evansville Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Evansville, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Evansville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Evansville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Evansville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Evansville paves the way for another one to be saved.
