Meet Rocket! This happy guy was rescued when his owner was moving and decided not to take him. Rocket was about 4 months old at the time, and had spent his life chained to a tree in his birth state of Louisiana. We are so glad his owner decided to let Rocket come to rescue and be adopted, because now he will be an indoor dog, and will know what family means. Rocket is now about 6 months old and weighs about 30 lbs. We expect he will be a medium sized dog when he is full grown. We were told he was a collie/rottweiler mix, but the vet told us he is absolutely a shepherd mix! So we can't really be sure what his parentage is, but Rocket doesn't care - he just knows he is adorable!
Rocket is social, friendly, and is currently living in a foster home with other dogs and really enjoys their company. He is playful, full of energy, and super cuddly! Rocket gives great hugs! Rocket has never had any formal training until now, so he is eager to learn and is very treat motivated. He shows no food, toy, or treat aggression. Rocket loves to run and play, and LOVES other dogs! Rocket will need a patient person who understands he is a puppy full of energy. He is teething and can be a bit mouthy, but he is not aggressive in any way.
Rocket has been fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and is on heartworm prevention. He is up to date on all age appropriate vaccines and has been dewormed.
