My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Eden is an amazing, gentle, calm, affectionate, beautiful girl that we love having in our home. She is well mannered, polite, and enjoys being around people of all ages and other dogs. She is super soft and cuddly and loves to snuggle all day, everyday. She walks well on a leash and is housebroken and crate trained. She has a mild prey drive (she alerts to squirrels and may jump out of place), but she responds immediately to correction. Her tail is always wagging and in the time she’s been living with us we haven’t seen her exhibit any bad habits. She eats calmly next to our 3 other dogs and has shown no aggression of any type around food or toys. Her personality is a little shy, submissive, very laid-back, and eager to please. She has clearly bonded to my 14 year old girl in her foster home and she cries briefly when she leaves the house without her. She has shown signs of separation anxiety, but very mild. When no one is home, we crate her next to one of our other dogs, and she cries briefly but quiets down quickly and is always fine when we get home. I think the best situation for Eden is with a family where she’s not home alone for extended periods of time. She can definitely be crated for probably 3-6 hours, but I think it would be stressful for her to be alone all that time without another dog to keep her company. I believe Eden will do well in a home with any energy level. She loves to take long walks and jog with a teenager in her foster home, but she’s just as content to walk slowly and lay on the sofa or in bed all day too. She is very much a “go with the flow” kind of girl. She doesn’t seem to initiate too much play on her own, but if you entice her, she’ll play willingly until you’re ready to stop. Our dogs are all older, so they don’t play too hard anymore, but Eden seems to adjust her energy level to fit her surroundings. I think if she was in an environment with younger, more active dogs, she would be more active herself. In all my years of dog ownership, I have never owned a dog more agreeable or contented than Eden.

Eden is a labrador-pittie mix born ~June 2011. She is crate trained and housebroken.
