Sassafras's Story...
Sassafras (Sassy) was running in a trailer park after she was abandoned by her owner. Not all of the people in the trailer park were nice to her, so she is a little bit afraid until she trusts a person. But she is a good girl and likes to be petted and loved. She is about 4 years old and somewhere between 20-25 pounds. Bad things happen to good dogs, but they are very forgiving once they feel safe. Sassafras will be a loving and loyal dog for an understanding family who will give her some time and let her ease into the relationship! She is fearful of what deep down she yearns to have, but she will get there! She is a great dog! Sassy would probably do better in a home without small children, not because she would harm them, but because she remembers being mistreated in the trailer park and is afraid of them. She is much more comfortable with adults.

Act quickly to adopt Sassafras. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sassafras, a Cottageville Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Cottageville, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Cottageville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cottageville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cottageville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cottageville paves the way for another one to be saved.
