Little Debbie's Story...
On October 1, 2014, a total of 136 small dogs were seized from one Jackson County household and brought to the animal shelter. The shelter was not equipped to handle so large an intake of dogs, so an alternate site was set up and the public responded with an outpouring of help, love, and donations. Some of these little ones have been adopted, but others were not chosen either because of age or health issues. We are finding them to be very loving dogs who need and deserve loving homes. Little Debbie got her name because she is a bit chubby and looks like she might have had a few too many Little Debbie cakes and cookies. But what a sweetheart she is. She is a hugger! She will wrap her little paws around your neck and snuggle in tightly. This sweet girl is probably 10 years old and weighs 13.8 pounds. She gets so excited when she sees someone that she knows come into the room that she bounces in place. Little Debbie would love to have a calm household and a snuggle buddy!

Act quickly to adopt Little Debbie. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Little Debbie, a Cottageville Pomeranian dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pomeranian for sale in Cottageville, or seeking a Pomeranian dog from a breeder in Cottageville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cottageville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cottageville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pomeranian breeders who help with Pomeranian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cottageville paves the way for another one to be saved.
