Baize's Story...
Baize is a pretty girl even though we are not sure of her breed. Does she have Chesapeake Bay Retriever in her to get that beautiful color and those gold eyes? Or is she part heeler, for she has a stub tail and the heeler body. But could she be a short-coated Australian shepherd? Wish we could know more about our dogs' breeds. But it doesn't matter much to us. She is about 2 1/2 to 3 years old and weighs 45.4 pounds. We think that she was born without a tail, not that it has been docked. She is a friendly dog. She loves to be petted and given treats. Recently, though, she has exhibited some treat aggression. Probably because she has experienced hunger. Baize would have been in trouble had it not been for a nice neighbor who fed and watered her after she was abandoned. She's been alone for a while, and we are so sorry that happened to her. If she were the only dog in the household, she'd be very content and get all the treats!

Act quickly to adopt Baize. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baize, a Cottageville Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Cottageville, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Cottageville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Cottageville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Cottageville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Cottageville paves the way for another one to be saved.
