Diamond's Story...
Diamond and her siblings were born in April in a foster home and remained in a foster care until they were ready for adoption. All received socialization and were always with at least one of their litter-mates. The foster families had the pups on a schedule to help with house training, so the pups are very familiar with going potty outside or on a training pad.

It will be especially helpful to get the puppies in a routine to start training with basic commands and walking with a leash. The first few nights in a new home without a litter-mate to cuddle might be difficult, but a stuffed animal toy and or a warm towel to cuddle with should help.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Diamond, a Elyria American Bulldog/American Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Elyria, or seeking a American Bulldog/American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Bulldog/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
