Cheddar's Story...
Cheddar was found in a cardboard box near a subway stop in Brooklyn. He was in good company - his 4 siblings. They were about 5 weeks old, clean, healthy, scared. We had them tested, vaccinated and socialized. He and his little sister Brie are still available from the litter as they were the most shy. Still, they've come a long way and with a little more love and treats he will be the best lapkitten ever.

Cheddar is tested for FIV and FELV, vaccinated and will be fixed as soon as he is old enough. He needs another cat or a kitten to play with so we will consider homes with another cat or place him with another kitten.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cheddar, a Brooklyn American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
