Shandy's Story...
This darling little lady is Shandy, a 3 month old torti kitten that is ready to meet her special someone. Shandy came to us with her littermates when a whole little family were found as strays. Mom took great care of her babies and once they were big and strong enough to be on their own, their mom was TNR'd, since she was not a real people person, and now the babies are ready to meet their new families. Shandy is outgoing and friendly, and loves everyone she meets. When you meet her, she acts as if she is a little shy, but then she pokes her head out, gives you a sniff and a pat of the paw, then gets her purr machine going and mushes all over you. Shandy is a curious kitten that loves to check out new things and is very playful. She gets along beautifully with her littermates and is just an all-around lovebug. Shandy is ready to meet some great families that could offer her the lifetime of happiness that she deserves. File#24949 6/20/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shandy, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
