Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi! I returned to SA GREYS because my family had to relinquish me. They said it wasn’t my fault and that I’d find a forever home soon. I've really enjoyed my life as a pet. I love going for long walks and playing with my toys. I got along well with my sister, a female greyhound, and with other large dogs at the dog park. I’m going to miss my people, my doggie sister and my life. They told me they would miss me enormously too. I will do my best to find a forever home quickly to prove to them I’m going to be just fine. I’m a bouncy, pouncy boy who will bounce right back from this setback, and will love my new family as much as I did my former family.
FOSTER UPDATE:
Leo is an adorable, handsome, affable boy who offers affection freely and prefers to be near his people. He’s goofy and fun. His ears bend in every possible direction. Leo has lived with Cleo, a female greyhound, with no issues. He is happy to be bossed around by her. He is house broken without a doggie door and barks when he needs to be taken outdoors. Leo doesn’t exhibit separation anxiety, but he has always been with another hound when we left him at home. We have been gone 8-10 hours without issue—he doesn’t have accidents and isn’t destructive. Leo will bark in response to noises or other dogs.
Leo has a lot of energy. He loves to take very long walks and to play around the house. He loves chasing tennis balls at the dog park, too. We have found that he is a much happier and more relaxed hound with 2-3 trips to the dog park every week. Of course, like all greyhounds, he still sleeps for hours on end!
Leo has a high prey drive toward cats and small dogs in general. At the dog park, he has done fine off leash with other large dogs. However, when on leash, he is reactive toward other animals regardless of species, size, or breed (with the exception of his greyhound sister). Leo had just started working with a behaviorist on this issue, and will continue to do so in foster.
