My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roadie is a 2 year old boxer mix. He bares the scars of a very hard existence before coming into rescue from an animal shelter. He has vision in one eye, and a rather unusual crooked tail from being broken.

Yet in spite of his history, he is a happy playful boy that likes nothing better than racing across the field with his foster brother in a game of chase. He also gets along well with his foster sister, a very "in-charge" girl who continually lets him know how he is to behave. While friendly to other dogs, Roadie is a little shy with new people and takes some time to warm up. But once he feels comfortable, he is very friendly and would really love to just curl up in your lap for lots of pets. (Although at 40 pounds he is a little big to be a lap puppy!)

Most of all, Roadie wants a forever home and a family to call his own. He needs a family who understand that it will take him a little time to adjust to new surroundings, and that with his vision impairment he will always probably be a little shy of new situations. (Although, in foster care he continues to gain confidence.) In return for the understanding, he offers lots of devotion and affection and not just a little entertainment for his family. Roadie is willing to share attention with other dogs, but prefers not to have cats in the pack. If you are looking to add a new family member and have the desire to share your home with a very special boy, Roadie may be a match for you! He is being fostered in the Tallahassee.
