Birdie's Story...
Meet Birdie! Birdie had a rough start in life and we are so excited to share her with the world. When we met little Birdie she was emaciated and had a skin condition which caused her hair to thin and some of it to be missing. She was deemed "undesirable and unadoptable" by Memphis Animal Services. We fell in love with her frail little body and decided to bring her into the rescue. Once we got her home- things quickly took a turn for the worse- she wouldn't eat and was so weak she could hardly move. She spend a few days receiving fluids and special food around the clock and finally felt better. It has been a month since we rescued her and we are so proud. She now has the shiniest and softest coat. She is a healthy 18 lbs and still growing. Birdie is thriving in her foster home with children and a few other puppies to play with. Birdie is about 3 months old and would love to spend her puppyhood with her new family. Her adoption fee is $500 and includes her spay, microchip, deworming, up to date puppy vaccines, rabies vaccine and transport from the Memphis area to you via a professional rescue transport company.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Birdie, a Chicago Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
