Cama's Story...
Meet Cama!

Cama is a 13 year old female(spayed) pit bull mix. She came to us weighing in at 18lbs and now she is a healthy 38.5lbs! She has mast cell tumors all over her body. Even with this less than ideal news, Cama is a very happy and energetic senior! For now she is not in any pain and continues to live life to the fullest. We do not know how much longer beautiful Cama has left on this Earth but we want her to spend her golden years in a home surrounded by love and happiness rather than being stuck behind bars.
Cama loves everyone she meets and enjoys going for a dip in the river. She likes other dogs that match her happy personality and would need to meet with any potential new doggy siblings. She doesn't mind respectful kids who understand that this senior girl is not a jungle gym. However, Cama is not a fan of cats and would need a home without any feline friends.
Please if you think Cama is right for your family and you can provide Cama with a happy home for the rest of her limited days, come down to the shelter and visit her today!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cama, a Colonial Heights American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Colonial Heights, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Colonial Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Colonial Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Colonial Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Colonial Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
