My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I am Arlo. I'm a 7-year-old neutered male Pekingese/Dachshund mix. I am about 26 pounds of pure sweetness!

Obviously, I am a very adorable pup, but it's what's inside that matters, right? Well, it just so happens that I am also a gentle, caring, loveable guy - which is why I was so surprised when my family abandoned me at a high-skill shelter. It all happened so quickly. One day, we all climbed into the car and started to drive towards what I thought was going to be the dog park. Little did I know, though, that was going to be the last drive I ever made with my family. I'm not even sure if they looked back at me as they pulled out of the parking lot.

I heard that the reason my former family dumped me at the shelter was due to them not having time for me anymore. Honestly, I am the easiest dog there is. I am a mature adult, totally housebroken, I walk really well on a leash, and I'm super easy-going. How much time do you need for a dog like me?

I spent about 2 weeks at the shelter. I was scared, nervous, and very reserved at first, but I started to open up quickly. One of the volunteers took a liking to me and contacted CageFree to ask them if they would consider taking me into their rescue. They said yes!! They've promised to find my forever home for me and I couldn't be happier.
